Process:
As the Creative Director of David & Jo's election campaign, I worked closely with the other members of the campaign core team. This included David, Jo, their two co-campaign managers, the head of publicity for their campaign, and me. We discussed and developed a strategy and plan, laid out a timeline for the campaign, and identified goals and benchmarks that would help us stay on track for the formal election campaign period.
I oversaw the visual communications of the campaign, which included branding/identity, website creation, style and content presentation. I took photos of the candidates used during the campaign and also provided photos for use on the campaign website. Graphics made from these photos were used as promotional material for the election campaign online, both on the D&J Facebook page as well as the campaign website. The campaign website can be found at www.groups.northwestern.edu/dj/.
Alexis Sanchez and Nathan Katz contributed heavily with graphic design and web design as part of the creative team during this campaign.
David & Jo were passionate about transparency with the student body, and wanted them to understand realities on campus, as well as how their ideas for would affect various issues.
During the campaign, I helped them articulate their ideas and share research data in an accessible format: infographics. We identified top issues students cared about, gathered data, During the formal election campaign period, the D&J team released these infographics incrementally to address issues on David & Jo's election platform.
